Beautiful big ceramic buttons, about 27mm and sold in a set of 5.
As most other our buttons these were fired two times. First firing is the so called bisque firing where temperature goes as high as 1000C degrees. After that our buttons are ready to be glazed. We put 4 layers of glaze manually and when they've dried, buttons are fired for the second time at about 1230C degrees. The backside of the buttons stays unglazed.
Can you wash the buttons in a washing machine? We would always go for handwash to provide extra care. However smaller buttons can also be washed in a machine, provided you choose wool or handwash program and the garment is turned inside out and put in a laundry bag. The buttons are not afraid of water or temperature, its all about continuous strokes against the washing machine drum when spinning. For buttons 23mm and bigger we strongly recommend handwash.
Please be aware that each button is 100% handmade so there may be imperfections in size and shape but we always pay extra attention to make sure that they match each other within one set.
